Dog Pile

Playing at grandpa and grandma's house is always fun.

It is always fun to pose with this statue at the library.

Taking Ellie to LPM

Always fun to ride bikes and walk Ellie to LPM.  Ellie was so excited to get to class that she rode off way ahead, and then had to wait for me to get there with her music books.

Ah, Swig, why do I love thee? When we go, which is not that often, usually only once or twice a month, I get either a Diet Raspberry Dream or a Diet Texas Tab.  Both have coconut cream, which is the ingredient I like best.  Cece gets a sugar cookie and eats off the frosting, and then Ellie eats the cookie part for her.  Ellie and Lynnie like the Tiger's Blood Freezes.

Awesome Hair

Cece likes to brush her own hair.  She would not let me have a turn this day, and her hair was flat and kind of matted and stuck to her head and yet still poofy.  These pictures really do not do it justice.  But Cece always likes going to the dentist's office (even though Ellie does not!).

Lynlee loves her Primary teachers, Brother and Sister Williams.  She did not, however, want to pose for a picture with her special paper from class.

Lauren's Baby Shower

It was fun to celebrate with Lauren at her baby shower.  The highlight for my girls was to play with their baby cousins.  On my mom's side of the family, there are 7 cousins, and they are all younger than my siblings and I.  They are all married now and having babies.  In the past couple of years, Shayla has had a girl and then twins, Yael had a girl, Julianne had a boy, Janice has had a girl and a boy, and Stephanie had a girl (plus Caitlin has 2 boys).  It is fun to have cousins that are younger, since the rest of the Maathuis/Camp/Taylor cousins are so grown up.  Ellie, Lynnie, and Cece were glued to Yael's baby Maya during the shower.

Grandma Great

We were able to visit Grandma Great's grave.  Lynnie picked out the flowers for her.  She wanted the brightest colors we could get, so Grandma Great would be happy.

Phoenix Ticket

Way to go, Lynnie Lu!

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

On Wednesday, I get to drive the girls to school, and Lynnie wants us to walk her in (she walks in by herself on the days Greg drives).  Cece loves to sit on the stairs with her, and they don't make a peep.  As Lynnie says, they are not noisy like those noisy 1st graders!  Cece has started to notice when the camera comes out, and she loves to pose for pictures.

Ladybug Bike

We love being able to walk to Let's Play Music class at Miss Sheryl's house.  Lynlee insisted on riding Cece's ladybug bike, and she had a great time.  The best part was that we got there early and Lynnie coasted down the driveway, making a sharp turn onto the sidewalk -- over and over.

I couldn't get a good picture of this, but Cece thought it was pretty funny to smear her hands with Vaseline and then make handprints on the mirror.  There were awesome giggles while this was happening.

The girls got new matching dresses for church, and I tried really hard to get a "posed" picture of the girls.  This turned out much better!

Birthday Book

Ellie spent a long time creating this book for her friend's birthday present.  It was sweet to see her working so hard to make something so special. The letters on the last page are the initials of the girls in their "club" -- Rachel, Eliana, Hannah, and Allie.

School Carnival

The girls' school does a fundraiser every September, a fun carnival.  We love going!  A highlight is getting their hair sprayed in fun colors.

We have finally come up with a system that motivates Lynnie to sleep in her own bed all night.  She can earn prizes when she sleeps a certain amount of nights.  We started with 8 nights, then 16 nights, then 32 nights.  32 nights was overwhelming for her and just set her up for failure, so we backed off to 16 nights for every prize from now on.  After her first successful time of sleeping 8 nights in a row, she picked out this mermaid tail swimsuit from amazon.  She had to try it out in the tub, of course!

Self Portrait

Lynnie drew this at school.  I love that she put Puppy on her shirt and glasses on her face.

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Looking forward, I know that Cece will start ASL preschool after her 3rd birthday.  This is her last chance to do mommy and me music classes, so I signed us up for Kindermusik with Miss Leda on Tuesdays, and found a Let's Play Music - Sound Beginnings class with Miss Alicia on Wednesdays.  It is also really good "speech" therapy, with providing opportunities to listen and respond to new teachers and music stimuli.  Plus, it's fun!

Play Dough

Play Dough is Cece's favorite thing to play with.  She plays with it almost every day.  Lynnie and Ellie will sometimes jump in and play with her.  Lynnie was proud of this creation, and was okay to disassemble it if I took a picture of it first.

Lynnie's Art

Lynnie has been bit by the drawing bug and she loves to make pictures all of the time.  This is a picture of herself and Eliana.

It's always fun to go to the park, especially when we go with the whole family.

Someone decided to color more than her paper today.

Sharing and Spinning

Most of the time, the girls are good sharers. This is an example. Lynnie was trying to get this straw thing to spin in the air, and Cece would chase it and hand it back to her.

Argh, Ladies

Ellie and Lynnie have always said that pirates say "Argh, Ladies!"  It's always fun at the allergy doctor to dress up like a pirate.

Back to School

Lynnie was better enough to head to school today, where she drew this awesome picture.

Last One

Everyone was better except Lynnie, and she and I stayed at home while Greg took the other girls out to run errands and get out of the house for a bit.

Sunday, September 4, 2016

Poor Cece and Lynnie got sick next.  Ellie's awesome Primary teacher took her to church, and I stayed with the sickies.  Lynnie insisted on wearing her new church dress, but then didn't feel well enough to go.

One good thing about this picture is noticing the girls' comfort items. Cece's soft zebra blanket was a present from her birth mom in the hospital.  Puppy is wrapped in the rainbow blanket Lynnie's birth mom gave her in the hospital.  Lynnie is sleeping under the blanket her abuela made her.

Ellie was better, and Greg had worked really hard to clear his schedule so we could go to Montana for Labor Day weekend.  It used to be a tradition for us to go for 4th of July and Labor Day every year, and we went for Christmas, also until Lynnie was 1.  I had gotten everything packed and all of the laundry done and the house clean and everyone to bed early Thursday night.  And then about 10 pm I started vomiting.  And didn't stop.  It was the worst feeling in the morning, when the girls wandered out of their room on Friday, confused as to why we hadn't woken them up to get on the road by 5 (as is our custom), to tell them that we couldn't go because Mama was sick.  The girls' suitcase stayed by the garage door, because Ellie was holding out hope that we could still go on the trip.

Greg taught Cece how to wink and it is just about the cutest thing you'll ever see.

Sick &LPM

Eliana was the first to catch the nasty virus that was going around her school.  She had a fever and was vomiting seemingly non-stop.  She and I got about 45 minutes of sleep that first night because she was literally throwing up/dry heaving every 10 minutes.  This motivated girl will not skip practicing, though, even if she is sick.  She even taught her baby doll how to play a song.
