1st AVT appointment

We had our first appointment with the Auditory Verbal Therapist, Kim, this morning.  Cece and Lynnie played while Kim and I did a history and some paper work, and then we got going with some therapy games.  Cece likes to observe until she is sure about what is expected of her, and then she jumps in.  She did that today as well.  Lynnie was a big help modeling the games.

Precious Girls

Lynnie was sad about something, and Ellie immediately ran up to give her a hug and some comfort.  I had to take a picture of that sweetness, and then a close-up of Lynnie's Cheeto fingers.  Cece wore a ponytail at church but she ripped it out.  I love how it made her hair stand straight up.

Discovery Park

We had a fun afternoon playing at Discovery Park with Albert & Kanisha and then eating Pizza Factory for dinner.  We love spending time with birth parents!

Ellie had fun playing with Hannah and Lynnie enjoyed playing with Paisley.  They all spent most of the afternoon outside.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

We got to help set up the art room for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon during SEPs (parent - teacher conferences).  Lynnie and Cece were pretty good about entertaining themselves while I was working with the other volunteers.

Waiting to Pick Up Ellie

Cece likes to sit on my lap while we wait for Ellie to get out of school.

Sweet Girls

Ellie very sweetly read Lynnie's new Star Wars book to her after their bath.

Behavior Book

Ellie's teacher has a behavior book where the students can earn minutes for Fun Friday.  They start each week with 30 minutes, and if they make a wrong choice they lose minutes in their behavior book.  Every day Ellie brings it home for me to initial.  She is really proud of the fact that she is the only one in her class left that has never lost minutes the entire school year.  I am really proud of her, too.

Felt Boards

I pulled down the felt boards and got out some felt figures to play with.  Lynnie loved making the underwater scenes.  Amy gave us this set years ago because it had a turtle and a dolphin in it.  Lynnie took the picture, as well.

Bike Ride

We are loving being outside with clear skies and almost warm weather.  Cece rode the ladybug bike all the way down the hill.  She is really coordinated!  She had a hard time getting it back up the hill, so she ended up running most of the way and I brought her bike back.  Ellie is getting more confident riding her bike as well.

Star Wars - Another Luke

I finished up another Luke today, this one to keep for Lynlee.  I did a lot better with the light saber this time.  She is pretty excited!

We spent a great morning at the Dinosaur Museum with Jayme, Byron, and Virgil.  We love our cousins!

Fun with Cups

Cece loves to pour water from one cup to another.  She almost never spills, and when she does, she just grabs the towel and cleans it up.  It is a fun game.

Queen Padme

Queen Padme paid us a visit today.  She was delightful to talk with and a very good queen.

Doctor Appointment

Because it's Presidents' Day, Ellie was home from school and got to go to Cece's post-op check-up with Dr Chaffin.  I had set the appointment before Cece's surgery for 8:30, thinking we'd get Ellie off to school and head to the doctor.  I didn't realize it was a day off of school, and was a little sad to be giving up our sleeping in day.  Cece always amazes me with how willing she is to cooperate with doctors and nurses.

Cece loves nursery, as long as I am with her.  I took a picture because lately she wants her blanket tied around her as a cape.

Make-Up Gymnastics Day

The girls had a make-up gymnastics class today, and we were so lucky to find Piper there at the same time!

Princess Leia Buns

Lynlee came up with this idea to make Princess Leia buns, and Ellie helped her execute it.  Blue knee high uniform socks, rolled up and duct taped to a head band.  I love it!

Star Wars - Luke

Phew!  Finished this figure at violin lessons, just in time for Ellie to take to school tomorrow as Miss Fox's Valentine's Day present.

Lynlee likes to find the Star Wars Golden Books when we are at ASL Story Time.  She and Cece wanted me to know that this book was SCARY!

Kiera was down for the weekend, and Ky, Tobyn, and Kiki came over for a couple of hours.  The highlight was definitely watching Tobyn stunt Ellie.  She loves to learn and try out these cheerleading tricks.  Good thing Kiki is an experienced cheerleader and Ky has so much experience helping Tobyn with the SUU team.  They are all great coaches!

Cece's cochlear implant was turned on today.  It was an exciting event!

Star Wars - Han Solo

Even being sick, Lynlee has continued to do UPSTART.  There is a contest running that if you have perfect usage in February, you get double medals, and that is motivating for her.  We are only doing the minimum a day (usually we do extra) and I am proud of her for working through it.

Speaker Issues

We are loving our new computer and not loving the fact that I cannot find speakers to work with it.  Luckily, we already had some headphones that will work so Lynnie can still do UPSTART.  But she doesn't like the headphones very much.  I really think the only reason she has not completely revolted is that I work on the Star Wars stuffies during her preschool.  The first set of speakers we bought were Bluetooth, and I couldn't get the computer to recognize them.  This set had an audio input thing, and still won't work.  Next on the list is a set of USB speakers.  Hopefully we will have success then!

Happy Birthday to Me

Greg set up my annual spa day, and I was able to leave the sick girls in his capable hands for a few hours.  Greg made a delicious steak dinner for me, and we had chocolate muffins for dessert.  My other presents were flowers and the bar stools I had been eyeing at Costco.  The best thing about the bar stools is that they go up and down with a hydraulic lift.  The girls are light enough that they can pull the lever and ride it all the way up.  So much fun!

Hero Day

I didn't take a single picture today -- just focused on getting medications down (motrin for fever, Tamiflu for the flu, plus an antibiotic for Lynlee who also had an ear infection), keeping everyone hydrated, and trying to get them to sleep.  I did text myself pictures from Greg's phone, and found this treasure from October 22.  It was Hero Day at school, and Ellie dressed up as Doc McStuffins, because doctors are heros.  So glad that Paisley had a Doc McStuffins birthday party and crafty Kelly made the coat, stethoscope, and name badges for every single kid at the party.
