Oatmeal has been Ellie's favorite food for a very long time.  I found this pin on Pinterest and decided it was time to make her a more healthy alternative.  The original recipe calls for dry milk, but since I make her oatmeal with milk I omitted that ingredient (after a trial run).  We put all of the ingredients in a snack sized Ziploc bag and stored it in the freezer.

1/4 c quick oats
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp ground flaxseed
2 tsp oat bran
1/8 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
2 T brown sugar

Even though she needed 2 T of brown sugar to make it taste the same as her Quacker packets, I feel good about it because we added chia and flax seeds.  The omega 3s balance out the sugar, right?

Ellie liked it so much she ate 3 bowls the day we made our packets up, and 3 bowls the next day.
