Happy Birthday, Andrew

We had a great time celebrating Andrew on his 8th birthday.  Family parties are the best!

Lu's Husband

Lu loves to pretend that the banister is her husband.  She dances with him, and kisses him, and sings him songs.  She will pull over one of her little chairs and sit by him and tell him stories.  She has concocted this awesome pretend play and it is pretty fun to watch.

Sweet Lynlee

Lynlee, I love that you have such style and you are not afraid to do exactly what you want!  Your feistiness is a great trait, especially when you are being true to what you know is right.  You are a soul full of music and joy and light.  I love you!

Worn Out

Lynnie wore herself out today (too many late nights as we are adjusting to getting back to a school routine).  She fell asleep and slept for a couple of hours this afternoon.

Dinner at B's house

We had a great dinner at B's house, and we loved seeing {R}!  Cece was not feeling well, so she was extra clingy.  Luckily, {R} is very patient with her, and after an hour or so, Cece warmed up and started showing off her normal, happy self.  She also showed off how much she loves broccoli.  Ellie loved it because Auntie B made real lasagna (not just noodles and sauce, which is the dish I call lasagna to get her to eat it!).

Campout

Ellie had a great idea to go camping in the backyard, but she couldn't quite talk Daddy into that plan.  The compromise?  Camping in the basement.

I don't think Greg got much sleep.

When Cece and I (who enjoyed our sleep in our own beds) woke up around 6 a.m., we wandered downstairs to find Ellie awake.  Greg had watched Cutthroat Kitchen all night long, and Ellie woke up to an episode playing.  She thought that was awesome.

Adjustment

It is an adjustment having Ellie gone all day long at school.  About lunchtime, Lu has gotten really lonely for her big sister.  Luckily, Lu has a baby sister who is getting big enough to really play, and we are having fun with that.

Flour Cookies

Someone asked me the other day about Lynnie and eating flour, and I realized that she doesn't eat flour anymore.  I don't even know when she stopped.  But she does like to make Flour Cookies (not to be confused with Sugar Cookies -- even though they are the same thing.  Lynnie thinks Flour Cookies is a better name because there is more flour in them than sugar.).

Lynnie Lu had a great idea to make Flour Cookies to celebrate Ellie's first day of school.  Greg and I are trying not to eat sugar, so I saved a row for the girls and we delivered plates of cookies to some our favorite people.  It was Cece's first time eating cookie dough, and she could not get enough of it.

Cuties

Here are the cutie oranges on display.  Cece is also really good about keeping her tray organized.  She always puts the segments she has chewed into a cup holder, and then hands me the whole mess before she wants a new orange.  Cece also likes to pull the segments apart by herself.  I start the edges and then she yanks them apart.

Broccoli

Two of Cece's favorite foods right now are broccoli and clementines.  The only problem with the oranges is that she basically just sucks the juice out, which makes it run down her chin and soaks through her bibs.  Luckily it washes out most of the time!  She also goes through 4-6 oranges at a meal.

Peek-a-boo!

Cece loves to walk around with a muslin blanket on her head, then pop out and say boo!  And she just laughs and laughs.  It is really cute.

Gymnastics

Ellie and Lynlee love going to gymnastics!  They are almost never in the same place at the same time, as their different classes rotate throughout the gym.  It was fun to grab this picture while they were both in the same area.

Milk Drinker

Little Miss is so independent, and she rarely lets me snuggle her any more when she is drinking milk.  She discovered that it is fun to lay on Daddy's pillows while drinking.

Baby Doll

Cece has just started loving to play with baby dolls.  She takes very good care of them.

Birthday Party Day

Getting ready for Ellie's birthday party, and Cece grabbed a cupcake before I could frost it.  And Ellie shows off a picture she made in the notebook that Ky & Tobyn gave her as a present -- with her new pens!

Vaseline

Cece got into some Vaseline and had a great time smearing it all over her hair.

We spent a few hours at the aquarium with Jon, Travis, Sarah, Gwen, Grandma, and Aunt Amy.  It was fun!

Bwa Ha Ha!

Brian posted this on Facebook, and I love it.  I think I will start using it for my classes at the U.

Good-bye, Kandice!

This wonderful group of ladies are my dearest friends, and we have been a "book club" since August of 2002.  We gave up reading books years ago, but we still get together every month.  Sweet Kandice and her family are moving on Thursday back to Wyoming, and we will really miss her!  We got together for one last lunch as a group of seven.

Family Dinner

With all 5 siblings in town for Adam's wedding, we had to get together one more time.  We had a lot of fun reminiscing and telling Travis and Sarah some of our family legends.  Pops and Amy recounted the story of when Amy and I got dropped off at the Rydin's house, 5 miles from home, in the middle of winter, and no one was home.  Bobi dropped us off and immediately left, even though she couldn't see the front door from the driveway (she had to get to a rehearsal).

And how, at 5 & 7, we decided to just walk home.  In a snowstorm.

Between us we had 2 coats, 1 hat, 1 hood, 1 scarf, and 1 pair of mittens.  We each wore one mitten and held hands, and put the other hand in our coat pockets.  We walked home on the shoulder of Palatine Road, which is about the same as Bangerter Highway, and crossed a freeway entrance.  We got home and went right in, sat down and watched TV.  No one was home, so we entertained ourselves.

They were all out looking for us, including the police!

Wedding Brunch

Ellie and Lu loved taking pictures in front of this gorgeous background Aunt Amy made, at Adam & Lauren's wedding brunch.
