Cece ate about 4 pieces of little broccoli, and then she had to have this giant piece. It was pretty funny to watch her try and eat it.

It is the last day of Ellie's Chinese unit, so the parents were invited to see their last class. She will start Spanish next Monday. After the presentation, the children sat at their desks and colored a certificate. The child that sits next to Ellie was out sick, so Lynnie used the desk and watched Ellie color.

One of the positive unintended consequences of the great toy clean-out is that the girls are using all sorts of things as toys. We pulled down their special turtles and dolphins from their bookshelf, and they played happily for an hour. They stayed on the table so that Cece couldn't reach them.

The girls have been riding their new bikes multiple times a day down on the tile in the basement. It has been so mild lately that we decided to just take them outside. I had been waiting for a time when Greg would be home and we could all go together, but this is his busiest time of year between work and basketball, and I feel like we haven't seen him for a month. So we got tired of waiting and just went for it.
The girls peddled their hearts out, and with many pushes from me, we got up our big hill. Then we tackled the dirt path on the hill to get to the bike path. That was a little scary and took three trips for me -- taking Ellie's bike up, taking Lynnie's bike up, then pushing the stroller up as the girls climbed. I quickly realized we wouldn't be able to come down that slope and came up with a new plan.
Once we were on the flat path, the biking was glorious! The girls did so great and were very friendly, waving to everyone who passed us. We even passed Bishop Card and he stopped to chat for a minute. His birth mother had given birth the day before and they were anticipating placement the next day. So much love for his birth mom was expressed in that two minute conversation. All birth mothers are my heroes!
When we got to 1200 W, we came down the access path to Bull River Road. I didn't realize how long that strip without a sidewalk is when you have two little girls on bikes who are tired but trying hard to go fast. Once we got back to the sidewalk, life was better. When we got back to our street, the girls walked the bikes because the hill was too steep. This decision was quickly reached after Ellie tipped over trying to stop.
We went about a mile and it took us an hour. A very successful first outside bike ride!

We got to go to the aquarium today with Albert and Kanisha, and we had a great time! It is always fun to spend time with our birth parents, and it is wonderful to watch them interact with the girls. Lynnie made sure before we left that I had change so that they could all make pennies. She and Albert chose matching penguin pennies, and Kanisha & Ellie chose matching starfish pennies.

Ellie's school is having HOPE week, and she got to dress up with something special every day. Today was fairy tale day, and she wanted to be Snow White. Ever since Tayler told Ellie that she is the perfect Snow White, Ellie has been a little obsessed. That is the power of her birth mom -- and I love it!
P.S. We have been having the mildest winter. It was over 60 degrees today.

My mom got Cece all sorts of Little People figures for her birthday. One of them had a picture on the back of more figures, including a zebra. I hopped on amazon to find it for her for her Valentine's Day present, and found a steal of a deal on a zoo train with zebra stripes as well. They came in the mail today, and it is always fun to open a box of presents.

We took a quick trip to Walmart after picking Ellie up from school. The girls convinced me to let them have a ride in the helicopter. Ellie loved it. Lynnie lasted about half of the ride, and then I tried to pop Cece in for the last little bit. Cece was having none of that! She much preferred to stay by me in the cart.

My nephew Adam returned from his mission in Texas last Thursday and we were able to go and listen to him speak in Sacrament Meeting. Ellie was so excited to go Primary in Aunt Bobi's ward, and Lynnie elected to stay with me and Grandma. Cece was a little grumpy at not getting a nap in her own bed, so Lynnie helped me walk her around the halls. After church, Bobi hosted a lunch at her house, and the girls were fascinated looking out her front window.

Ellie was being Daddy's big helper and putting toilet paper in the bathrooms. She also tried to change the toilet paper in the powder room, but dropped the roll holder in the toilet. She knew she wasn't supposed to stick her hand in the toilet, and she panicked and tried to flush it.
Yeah, that didn't work.
She came and told Greg right away and we quarantined the toilet until Monday, when Tim came over and helped Greg take the toilet apart to fish that thing out.
