Dance Class

We have really enjoyed dance class this spring.  It was a great group of girls in the class.  And perhaps the best part was having a car pool with our neighbors.  Ellie and Lynnie always seemed to do better in class on the weeks that Jason drove...

"Mom, do you think Cece wants to play with my Pinga?"

Lynnie adores this pink penguin, because {M} gave it to her. Super special!

Just for Fun

Cece has received the most beautiful outfits as presents, and it is fun to dress her up in them!  She loves to kick her feet.

Face Paint

Ellie and Lynnie were invited to Sienna's birthday party and they had a great time.  The best part?  The face painter!

Field Trip

Today was Ellie's preschool field trip to the pond, and I volunteered to go along.  Ellie wanted to ride with her friends, of course, instead of with Lynnie, Cece, and I.  These girls are great friends!

Hair Bows

Cece is really happy most of the time now, and it is wonderful.

Until this morning, when Lynnie wanted to try lots of hair bows on her.  After the second one, Cece was done with that game!

We spent a few last hours with Amy before she was headed back to Oman, and it was wonderful.  She came to Kindermusik with us (and got to meet Tayler & Piper), had lunch, and hung out for a while.  Amy is really good at working out the knots in my neck, and after watching her do that me, Lynnie wanted to give her a massage.

Lynnie is wearing her cape, just like Elsa.

We had an absolutely crazy windstorm last night.  Luckily, our only casualties was our bbq grill blowing over and our little blue kiddie pool disappearing.  Lots of neighbors had fences blown down, trampolines missing, windows shattered, and things like that.  There was still a little lingering wind by the afternoon, so we covered Cece's face with her blanket as we were walking out of dance class.  She didn't appreciate that much.

This morning, as I was struggling to brush Lynnie's hair (after spraying on our usual assortment of water, conditioner, and detangler), Lynnie asked, "can I get my hair cut?"  You betcha!  She wanted it to be short, but not too short, and decided on shoulder length.  Ellie also wanted hers cut shorter so it will be cooler as the weather gets warmer.

Car Wash

Ellie is such a good worker!  She loves to go to the car wash, and always wants to wash all of the tires.

Ky & Tobyn

Ky and Tobyn came over again and spoiled the girls some more.  They brought them darling Easter baskets and then played with us for a couple of hours.  So much fun!

Family Picture

Pops had the idea to snap some quick pictures after Grandma Great's graveside service, before he left to run some errands and the rest of us went back to the church for the funeral luncheon.

Aunt Amy

I don't think there is anything that can be said.  This picture kind of speaks for itself!

What's gonna work?  TEAMWORK!

Special Books

For story time tonight, the girls picked their "special books" to read.  I have a Shutterfly photo book for each of them for their first year of life.  I plan on doing a book a year for each of them, and someday I will get that project caught up.  Ellie actually read of the captions (impressive!) and Lynnie was very excited to see a picture of Grandma Great with her as a baby.

Yard Work

We Greg spent a full day in the yard doing spring clean-up.  Greg mowed, trimmed, and fertilized the grass, pruned the raspberries, got the fountain cleaned out and started, treated the hot tub, picked up all of the debris that collected along the fence over the winter, started the sprinkler system up, and many more things that I did not see.

I managed to get about 80 minutes outside over a 4 hour period, where, in between situating girls and keeping everyone happy, I weeded most of one of the grow boxes.

For about 20 minutes during the day, the 2 youngest in the family looked like this:

Yard work with kids is fun!

Big Smiles

Love this zebra outfit that was a present from Nina.  And I absolutely adore the amazing baby wearing it!

Grandma Great

My sweet grandma is nearing the end.  I am glad we were able to spend a couple of hours with her today.

Banana Peels

Lynnie is slowly deciding to eat less of her unusual foods--no more dirt, no more crayons, no more chalk, and no more flour.  I finally convinced her that eating too much flour was giving her diarrhea, so she gave it up.  The last of her fun foods is banana peels.

Yep, the peel.

She eats the brown part off of the bottom.

And she usually wants 2-3 before she's done.

Sometimes I can get her to eat a few bites of the inside.  Usually I just eat the actual banana for her.

Sure love this girl!

Holding Her Bottle

Lynnie was the first to notice that Cecilia was "holding" her bottle all by herself. A child prodigy!

Cinnamon Rolls

So fun to have big helpers when making things.  Ellie cut all of the cinnamon rolls by herself.  With dental floss.  She loved it!

General Conference

The best weekend of the year is General Conference weekend!  Greg is home with us all day on Sunday (which always feels like a miracle) and we get to soak in family time and words from the prophets.  The girls helped us make a big breakfast.  We tried out a new recipe for buttermilk biscuits (OK, but a little dry Alton Brown.  A little dry.) and also made sausage gravy and eggs.  Ellie loved cutting out the biscuits, and she ate most of hers.  Lynnie wasn't a real fan but ate all of her eggs (her favorite).  And Cece fell asleep in the bouncer.

Date Night

Greg and I were supposed to meet another couple for dinner, but the couple had something come up last minute.  I already had a babysitter for the big girls, so we grabbed Tammy and headed out anyway.  We were discussing where to go, and had decided on Texas Roadhouse.  Kind Aunt very genuinely asked, "wait, will it be too loud for Cece in there?"

Ummmm, she's deaf.

It usually is, however, too loud for me!

Ellie and Lynnie tried to help Cece grip the cheetah.  It wasn't very successful...

I love watching these sweet girls play together!

Lynnie loves all of Cece's zebra things.  Lynnie Lu likes to "take care" of them.

Uncle Rod

Rod is in town for the week for work meetings, and we were so happy to spend the night with him and have him meet Cece.  Ellie was happy to take a picture.
