Baby Crackers

Lynlee has discovered what we affectionately call "Baby Crackers."  They are Baby Yum Yums (or something like that).  Lynnie loves to lick them and will eat an entire cracker if you give her long enough.

Ellie Was Here, Part 2

Ellie loves stickers, and always wants "more stick-ahs."  She stacks them up and carries them around.  She likes these foam stickers the best.

Another Helmet Fitting

We had an appointment today to get Lynlee's helmet adjusted.  There has already been improvement, and her head is filling in where it is supposed to fill in.  This is really encouraging to me, and makes me hate the helmet a little less!

Rolling Over in Her Crib

Lynlee started rolling over in her crib on Saturday.  She thinks it is so funny, until she gets stuck, and then she cries.  She loves to look at herself in the mirror and babble.

I got a little kiddie pool for the girls and got it all set up today.  Ellie took a nap from 3:30-6:30, so by the time we got out there around 7, the pool was in the shade.  That didn't matter, and I finally had to take the girls in when Ellie's lips were blue.  They had so much fun!

Ellie Was Here, Part 1

Ellie is starting to get really tall and she can reach so many things.  She loves to open the silverware drawer and clean out all of the baby spoons, and then open the drawer that has washcloths and get out all of the bibs.  Then she will feed her babies and stuffed animals.

Going on a Hayride

In Kindermusik, one of the activities we do on occasion is to pull our child around the room on a towel while listening to "Going on a Hayride."  I came back from putting Lynlee down for a nap to find Ellie giving her doll a hayride.

Amy is in Town

Amy came over for a few hours today and we had a great visit.  She is off on a cruise next week with Bobi to Russia.

Lynlee's First Time in the Hot Tub

...and she loved it!  Ellie found it a little hard to share, since she normally goes swimming with Dad all by herself.  It was different having Mom and Sister with her, but she adapted quickly.  And check out the remnants of baby powder on Lynnie's head.  The helmet seems to do better when I smear diaper rash ointment around the parts where it rubs on her forehead and neck and sprinkle baby powder all over.

Happy Father's Day

Ellie had just woken up from a nap, she really does love her daddy!

Picnic with Uncle Glenn's Family

It was nice to catch up with Uncle Glenn & Aunt Kathy, Quentin & Mary Ellen, Trinnie & Brett, Ben, Lorin & Kelly, and Tash & Tim.  The girls and I picked up KFC and met the whole family after the boys got done with a round of golf.  Ellie loved showing off for Daddy and went down the slide a bunch of times, until Greg had to distract her with the swing.  She kept on saying, "no share slide" and would get mad at the other kids for sliding.  So Greg pushed her in the swing while talking to Brett as he pushed one of his boys, and they were in there for over 45 minutes.  Lynlee hung out with me while I talked with Kelly, Trinnie, Mary Ellen and Tash.

Girls' Camp!

I had the awesome opportunity to crash Girls' Camp again this year.  Can I just say, starting the Candy Bar Game as an annual tradition was the smartest thing I have ever done?

I want to die...

...because of this dang wind and my allergies!  The girls and I went out this afternoon to plant some replacement starts in the garden, and it was interesting.  Even Ellie, the girl who will do just about anything to play outside, was done after a few minutes and wanted to come in.  She even climbed the back stairs and sat on the doorstep waiting for me to be done.  Lynlee was a champ and sat on a blanket with some toys.  She only fell over twice!

Wacky Wednesday

Today's Wacky Wednesday adventure found us at the Bean Museum on BYU's campus. It has had a makeover since the last time I was there, and it was fun to see the exhibits. Ellie especially loved the humongous elephant and the lions. Lynlee loved sitting up in the stroller like a big girl.

Lynlee's First Haircut

Another casualty of Lynlee's helmet is her beautiful hair.  The more hair, the more slippery the helmet is, and the more irritation it causes to her scalp.  So I had to cut it off, and it was really hard.  I know that no one will see her hair for 3 months, but it was more difficult than I expected to chop the silky strands.
my feelings exactly, baby love

Helmet Fitting

The people at Fit Well are very nice and professional. They made an emotionally painful experience a little less heartbreaking.

I am in Allergies Hades

Ever since we got back from Montana, I am barely functioning.  I keep on dosing myself with more medicine, and different combinations of medicine, just to do the bare minimum.  My eyes are red and puffy and I can barely breathe.  And then, after I have taken so much medicine, I can barely stay awake!  Please, let there be rain so my suffering will ease.
and yes, clearly I am a fan of Costco

Ellie loves to throw her toys and blankets out of her crib and yell GERONIMO!  It comes out as ah-mo, but we know what she means.

First time in restaurant high chair

At the Perkins in Pocatello on the way home from Helena.  Lynlee only lasted about 5 seconds longer, then we held her for the rest of breakfast.

Kylene's Seminary Graduation

Seminary graduation was fun, especially with Ellie and Lynlee who had already been through church in the morning.  I spent the majority of the time in the foyer with Lynnie, and for a while we looped the building looking at the pictures of Jesus with Greg & Ellie.  Totally worth it, though, to see Kylene get her Seminary Diploma.  Go Kylene!

On Our Way to Kylene's Graduation

After a few delays from our fellow caravaners (drat those alarm clocks), we got on the road at 5:45. Both girls fell right asleep and are still snoozing an hour later.

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Ellie has gotten into a really good habit of eating "oatmeal cereal" every single day.  It started because Lynlee is eating rice cereal, and Ellie wanted to try it one night.  She ate a few bites of Lynnie's cereal, and the next day I outsmarted Ellie by making her special cereal when I made Lynlee's cereal.  And now it is a tradition!

Hanging Out

The girls love to touch each other.  It is fun to see Lynlee getting big enough to grab at Ellie and "take" Ellie's toys.
