Morning Routine

Ellie usually chills in the love sac and watches Signing Time in the morning while we are showering and getting ready for the day.  This morning she was hungry at the same time Lynlee was hungry, so I gave E her bottle and plopped her down, and she drank her whole bottle by herself.  Very impressive!

Snow Removal

Last night, our friend Brian came over and plowed our driveway with his 4-wheeler while Greg was doing tithing settlement.  How nice was that!  So nice that he deserves a blog shout-out.  While he was busy working hard, Julie, Hailey, and Nick came in and entertained me.  And Ellie entertained us all.

This morning, there was even more snow, and our intrepid father went out and took care of it.  He was super excited to have his picture taken, as you can see.  But I had to show how cool his snowmobiling boots are!

Snow, snow, and more snow

I had decided it was time to take the girls to church, but when I woke up this morning and looked outside, I saw this and reconsidered:
I texted Greg and said I was going to keep us all home, and he called and talked me back into going.  So I quickly got us all dressed and out the door, and Greg came out from the church and carried Ellie in for me.  It was really nice to be there and to see our friends.

Greg's first funeral as Bishop

Today was Sister Day's funeral. It was a nice service, full of hope amidst the grief.  We were there almost 2.5 hours, and Ellie did beautifully.  Lynlee slept the whole time!  We sat with Sis Gabbitas and Bishop & Sis Fisher.  Ellie loves Sis Gabbitas.  E kept on leaning on her and giving her toys and talking to her.  I had the girls dressed in mostly-matching corduroy jumpers.  Super cute!

Ellie, Andrew, and Kyralyn chilling at Grandma's house watching Scooby Doo - what a fun sight!  Ellie is getting so grown up.  She didn't want to play upstairs with the adults.  She just wanted to play with the "big kids" in the basement.

This is what happens...

I'm the Silly Sister

I found a couple of shirts for Lynlee that say "little sister," but I can't find any for Ellie that say "big sister."  I did find this shirt, and I thought it was appropriate!

P.S.  I love making the title of this post "Sisters."  Who would have ever thought that we would have two absolutely beautiful girls?  Adoption and our birth moms are amazing!

Fun & Games

Ellie's newest game to play is to hide something behind her back and then say, "Go?"  Then she will pull the object out and laugh!  Today she was being doubly-tricky by putting things behind her and then putting both hands in front of her.  Tayler came to visit today, and Ellie showed off all of her tricks, including this new game!

Outfit from Aunt Jo, headband from Darci

P.S.  Ellie will always sign "aunt" for Aunt Jo, but never signs "aunt" for any other aunts.  It's like she thinks "aunt" = Jo.

First trip out of the house

We had some Signing Time DVDs due at the library today, so we took a quick jaunt to return those and get some more.  Since I had Lynlee in the carrier, Ellie was a big girl and got to walk a little bit.  She knows exactly what aisle her movies are on, and she thought she was pretty big stuff being able to pick some to take home!

Today was (probably perhaps) my last Ensemble Festival for a few years.  Everyone did awesome!  Jace and Cassie both played duets with Rachel (and I am always happy to register them), Jacob and Madelin played the best they have ever played, Tyler and Sadie got honors, and Joshie and Syreese also got honors, which is amazing since it was the first time Josh has ever played in Festival!  McKinzie takes the cake, though, with a 38.5/40.

Billirubin test

Lynlee had to have a billirubin test today. It was amazing to me how well she did. When the lab tech poked her foot, Lynlee stirred a little bit, and then went right back to sleep. No tears!

At the doctor's office

Greg and I were finishing up the last little part of our adoption papers by getting physicals this morning (we had put it off because we are in the middle of switching our health insurance and had to wait for our new info). Ellie had a hard time at the doctor! We think she was expecting to get a shot, and she did not want one. She cried a lot when we were getting our blood pressure taken, and our eyes and ears looked at. Poor baby has to go to the doctor next week, and then all of her worst fears will come true...

The new baby's closet

We have been working really hard getting the new baby's nursery ready.  We have been painting and putting together furniture and moving things around and organizing all of the stuff I have bought.

We had a picnic today at the SCERA park, and the weather and company were both perfect.  Ellie had a lot of fun playing on the playground and playing in the leaves.  She also loved putting her cups on her toes!

Spoons with a Twist

We had lots of fun today playing spoons.  The twist is that instead of getting pairs, you had to build a major or minor triad.  Lots of giggles and lots of rewards (a.k.a. leftover Halloween candy) for the winners!

Ellie loves to take things apart and put them back together, nest her cups, put caps on and off things, and stuff like that.  This bird toy is a perfect fit for her!  Ellie will take it apart and build it back up, over and over and over.
