R.I.P.

Here lies a faithful member of the family, that has worked hard for 11 and a half years.  It has seen us through thick and thin, through good times and bad, through winters and summers.  Rest well, faithful washer.  It has been an excellent run.
I had a repairman come look at the washer to see if it was fixable.  The motor is out, and he quoted me $506 for parts and labor.  I don't even think we paid that much for this washer when we first got it for our Salisbury house in April of 99.  (Do you remember, Jonette?)  Hello, front loader!  We have been shopping in person and online for the past couple of days, and will hopefully be able to make our decision and get something today, so that it can be delivered and installed tomorrow.  I've got loads stacking up!

Standing!

Today, Ellie stood up all by herself.  What a big girl!  More details to come on my main blog.

Picking up rocks at the Stake farm

You can tell from this photo how hard Ellie and I worked. Everyone else kept on getting farther and farther away from us, and we just happily played in the dirt.  Some even went in Ellie's mouth, because even though she will not eat very many foods, everything else gets tasted....

Mother/Daughter Book Club

We read Seven Miracles That Saved America: Why They Matter and Why We Should Have Hope by Chris and Ted Stewart, and I really enjoyed it - even though I do not usually read non-fiction. Great pick, Mom!

Hot Tub

We took Ellie "swimming" in the hot tub for the first time tonight, and she loved it!  She had fun kicking and splashing and chewing on her toys and going back & forth between Greg and I.

Crazy storm

Ellie loved the storm today.  Every time she saw it raining, she signed "rain" like crazy and thought it was pretty fun.  She loves to feel the rain (from the safety of the garage, of course).

Anger Management

Ellie was mad because she saw her Baby Signing Time on the table and I told her it was time for bed. And these new pj's were a gift from Tayler.

Brayden's first Melchizedek priesthood blessing

Brayden was ordained an Elder today, and had the opportunity to give his first blessing to Grandpa.  Grandpa is having surgery in the morning for a hernia.  It was a special moment, witnessing the oldest grandchild administering to his grandpa.

Birthday fun!

Happy birthday to Kandice, Ilene, and Erin!  There is nothing more fun than having an excuse to go out with my girlfriends.  We had a great dinner at Rumbi, saw Knight and Day, and then topped the night off with treats at Smart Cookie.

Pushing Doll

Ellie is getting better about walking with her walker toy, and with our fingers.  She has tried a couple of times to walk while pushing her doll stroller, but that is a little too tippy.  So, she has figured out a way to push her doll while "walking" on her knees.  And she is super fast!

Eating marshmallows

Davis gave Ellie marshmallows for her birthday. I am making rice krispie treats, so I gave her some to try. She thinks they are pretty good. Thanks, Davis!

Playing the organ

I got to dust off my rusty skills and play the organ for the Saturday night session of Stake Conference. Don't tell anyone, but I used the bass coupler and did not even attempt my feet. Way too rusty for that without practicing...

Intake

Today, Greg, Ellie, and I met with our fabulous case worker Adrienne to begin the process of submitting our adoption papers again.  Time to get Ellie a sibling!

Welcome Home

In a crazy, freak accident, our next-door neighbor's car (up the hill) rolled out of his driveway, down the street, and U-turned into our driveway, smacking into our garage door.  No one was hurt, and I will probably get a new, painted garage door out of the fix, so it will all work out great.

Dressing up....

I have no idea how they came up with these looks, but Kiera and Kayd sure are styling! Now it's off to Macy's to see if Kylene (who is at work), will recognize them...

A relaxing Sunday afternoon

Greg enjoyed this pose for a few minutes before we roped him into playing cards with the rest of us.  We had fun for a long time, since Ellie took a 3 hour nap.  We had fun until it was proved that Kyle had cheated (we always suspect him of it).  Greg was getting all excited, tipping back in his chair, and said that we needed to replay that last hand of Wizard, since he got jacked.  Just as he said the word "jacked," there was a snapping sound, and all of sudden Greg was on the floor with his chair in pieces.  Jonette was excited, because now she has an excuse to get a new dining set!

Ribs for dinner ... YUM

Counter-clockwise from the left - Megan, Kylene, Cassie, Kiera, Kaysen, and Kaydren.  Hope Megan doesn't feel left out by not having a "k" sound at the beginning of her name...

Big time in Dillon

Here is the fabulous garage we found on our way through Dillon, Montana. Had to stop in Dillon for Kayd:)

2 years ago, Kaydren rode to Montana with us, and we stopped in Dillon for lunch at KFC.  It took forever to get our order, and then everything was gross.  But there were teenage boys who were employees who sure thought Kayd was cute!

Ottoman

Ellie's new thing is to climb inside the red ottoman.  She will push the lid off and then climb right in.  Sometimes she leaves the lid on, climbs on top, and then climbs into the blue recliner or onto the couch.  So adventerous!

Too many toys to choose from

getting a new toy (on clearance) for our trip this weekend
