8 a.m. wedding

This morning Greg and I went to the temple at 8 a.m. to attend a sealing for a brother in our ward.  Luckily, Tammy was willing to come over.  Ellie was only awake for about 30 minutes for her before we got back, but they played and played.

Blossoming Talents

Our Relief Society meeting was a "Women's in Excellence" night that we shared with the Young Women.  People either baked treats, or displayed something that represented a talent, or performed.  I got roped in at the last minute to accompany Whitney on the flute (and I was happy to do so, but sad that my rusty skills brought down the performance - sorry, Whitney!).   Emily played a beautiful piece (one of her Festival pieces).

I love Alesha and Emily!  They are some of my favorite people in the world.  I don't get to hang out with Alesha much anymore, and I miss her...

Sitting in Crib

When we went to get Ellie after nap this afternoon, she was sitting up in her crib (for the first time).  Love her post-nap hair!

Ellie helped us today as we worked in the yard.  Greg mowed the lawn and I pulled weeds and Ellie played.  For a few minutes anyway - and then she freaked out.  So I tried going to the backyard with her (where it is flat) thinking maybe she didn't like being on a hill.  She played for a few minutes - and then freaked out.  Greg got a brainstorm and got her stroller.  I sat her in that and shaded her from the sun and took her hat off.  Ellie sat and played for a few minutes - and then freaked out.  So E and I came inside.  Greg is still working...

Playing ball with Dad

Tonight Ellie was tossing the ball back at Greg, and then she would giggle!  She was doing it with me earlier in the day, and it was even more fun to watch her do it with Greg.

I love this picture because the ball is actually in the air after E had thrown it.

Greg's mom is back from their big trip to Arizona and California, so Ellie and I went to Institute this morning.  The lesson was great (as always) and Ellie did a good job entertaining herself.  For the last 10 minutes, I sat on the floor with her, and she snuggled and laid down on my leg.  Then we came home and she actually took a morning nap (for the first time in weeks).  Hmmm, maybe if I was home more in the mornings, she would nap more.

About time...

I finally got around to calling Ginger and making an appointment to get my haircut.  Luckily, she got me in in an hour.  I feel like I am back to normal!  When I visualize myself in my mind, it is always with my hair this length.

Davis was giving Ellie lots of loves this morning.  It was so cute!

And check out the butterfly on E's bum...

Spring has sprung

Love the beautiful weather today, and love Elizabeth's daffodils!

Sleeping in Car Seat

So ever since we have switched Ellie to her "big girl" car seat, she slumps all over when she falls asleep.  Should I be worried about this?  It does not look comfortable!

I think E fell asleep before I got out of the church parking lot today...

Parker was so cute with Ellie today on their trampoline.  She had fun motoring all over, and did not even seem to mind the static electricity.

First time swimming....

...and Ellie warmed right up and loved it!  She was kicking and splashing, and eating her duck and Greg's goggles, and jumping and bouncing, and squealing (really, really, loud).

Princess Ellie

Today we had a Primary reunion at Darci's house. It was just like old times - we all sat in our 'assigned' seats and ate Kneaders for Darci's and Julie's birthdays. Cache put a crown on Ellie.

Tonight we picked up our new, sporty crossover - an Acura MDX.  It was really fun to drive it home!

First tooth!

This morning, Greg noticed that Ellie had a little tooth spike on her bottom gums.  She will not let us open her mouth to look, but we have both felt it!

I have always had a fascination with names.  Today I was reminded of this as I was sitting in the dentist's chair - my dentist is called Dr. Pitts.  My high school band teacher was named Miss Horn, and my high school choir director was Mr. Reiser.  Do your names predispose you to choosing a career?  Could Miss Horn have been a neurological surgeon?

Ellie and I got to play in the nursery today. Ellie loved the new toys!  She did really well, even though (as you can tell by looking at her eyes) she was exhausted.  Church really messes with her nap schedule...

Rice Krispie Disaster

I tried making Rice Krispies last night with old old old stale marshmallows.  I just kept on microwaving and microwaving thinking those marshmallows had to melt sometime.

It didn't work....

Note to self:  Use only fresh marshmallows in the future!

Heather Road

I found Heather Road in Orem.  The street is nice, and in a nice neighborhood.  Should we move?  Is it destiny?

Strolling down the sidewalk

Ellie and I took advantage of the good weather today and went for a walk.  It was a little breezy, but E was sporting her fancy hat (courtesy of Jonette) and she stayed toasty warm.  This is the first time I put her in the "big girl" stroller (sans car seat).

Visiting Daddy

Ellie and I got to go back to the Social Security office today to get her number.  We only had to wait 45 minutes, and then the nice lady behind the window printed out a paper with the magic number on it.  On our way home, we stopped to see Greg in his office and give him the number, so he could give it to our accountant, so she can file our taxes.  Yeah!

Ellie was fascinated with Greg's globe.  She was spinning it and squealing with delight!

Government Bureaucracy

We finally got Ellie's amended birth certificate this morning, and we headed straight to the Social Security office to apply for a number for her so we can file our taxes on time.  Bring on the deduction!

Story Time with Holly

Today Elizabeth brought her neighbor Holly with us to story time (Holly's mom just had a baby).  It was fun to watch a 4 year old enjoy the stories and do all of the actions.  After Story Time was over, Holly went and picked out a book for Elizabeth to read to her.
Just randomly, Holly picked this book, When You Were Inside Mommy.  I thought it would be a sweet story about before the little boy was born.  But no.  It went totally into the reproductive process, complete with pictures of "Mommy's cells" and "Daddy's cells" and babies in utero.  Poor Elizabeth went beet red, and did fabulous paraphrasing and skipped many pages.

I shouldn't laugh at her uncomfortableness, but it was hilarious!
