Senior Primary

There are "only" 70 kids (or so) in our Senior Primary.  They are a fun bunch!

Turtles

We are obsessed with turtles at our house.  Tayler loves turtles, so we adopted turtles as Ellie's signature item.  I used to think turtles were hard to find, but now I see them everywhere!  Ellie loves to chew on this turtle book - it is soft and has crinkly stuff in it, which is a match made in heaven.  We are practicing sitting up, and flexible E was so focused on chewing that she slid right down.

The Ellies

Ilene's Ellie and my Ellie are destined to be best friends.  They are almost the same height and weight - but Ilene's Ellie is 9 months older...

P.S.  Book Club is the best!  And Erin was able to come for an hour.  It was so great to see her and get the updates on Camden!  More on that tomorrow...it's late.

Look what came in the mail

We got an exciting package in the mail today from our friends Angie and Shaun.  They moved to Texas almost two years ago, and since Angie knows we are Cowboys fans in this house, she sent this cute outfit for Ellie.  How nice was that!  I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but the blocking around the words "Cowboys Rule" is in pink.

Go Cowboys!

My building

I love working in a historic building - one of the original 5 built on the U campus.

I should really pay more attention...

...to the things I put on my feet.  Got to Grandma and Grandpa's tonight to celebrate Jessica's un-birthday with these on.  Oops!

Photos

The last 2 days I have been organizing and cataloging the last two months worth of pictures.  I only picked up 797 this time (but a couple hundred of those are for Tayler, so it is not as bad as it seems!).  I always go through and put them in date order, and then put the best in the photo albums.  I filled up one and half of the big brown albums, and the green album is full of just pictures from the Christmas trip.  It feels good to be caught up again.

A Hat & A Sweater & A Toothbrush

Ellie and I went to Greg's mom's Institute class this morning, and Ellie was styling in jeans and a sweater/hat set.  I went through yesterday and got all of her clothes ready in the 6-9 month size.  Yeah for growing!  Now I can take pictures of lots more cute outfits.

Maiden Voyage

Tonight Ellie and I met Gwen and Judy for dinner in the Cougar Eat.  I knew I would be parking across the street and walking in, so I brought out this stroller that Jonette gave us for its maiden voyage.  Ellie loved it!  (P.S. The blanket was made by Jonette as well, and the outfit was a present from Tayler.)

We love Aunt Jo!

Ellie gets to play with "Aunt" Jo on Tuesday afternoons while I play with some of my favorite children in the world (Tyler, Sadie, Madelin, McKinzie, Zack, and Syreese).  Ellie loves all of the attention she gets at Jo's house.

Joanna told me that today, their neighbor Hailey came over to see Ellie, and Ellie cried at the stranger.  She never cries for Jo anymore (but there were a couple of rougher weeks).  Jo said that it made her really happy to know that Ellie is so comfortable with them.

I was holding Ellie when I got there, and Jacob peeked over my right shoulder, and Ellie smiled at him, and then he peeked over my left shoulder, and then he went back and forth.  Ellie giggled, and her eyes were so bright and she had such a look of wonderment on her face as she tried to figure out what Jacob would do next.

We love Aunt Jo!

Bathtime

Ellie loves taking baths!  This morning, Greg was taking a soak in the big tub in our master bathroom, and we experimented and threw Ellie in with him.  She loved it!  The whole bathroom was soaking wet - she can kick with the best of them.  Ellie also loved "swimming."

Poor Finn

Greg was driving back from his game in Grand Junction with Paul, Kelly, and Kelly's son Finn, when Finn got car sick and threw up all over.  Poor Finn! Greg got the car all cleaned up, though - that is definitely an ox in the mire situation, right?

Sleeping In

Occasionally, I will get Ellie and put her in bed with us in the morning.  She is so sweet and snuggly first thing in the morning.  Today she would look at Greg, and then look at me, and then touch Greg with her left hand, and then touch me with her right hand.  She played for about an hour before falling asleep - and then we all slept for another hour.  It was wonderful!

P.S. My sister Robyn just came by to meet Ellie, and I forgot to take any pictures!  That should have been the picture of the day...

Rolling Over

This morning Ellie rolled over from her tummy to her back for the very first time.  And then, almost immediately she rolled again to her tummy.  I grabbed the camera, but there was no repeat performance (of going over to her back again)...

Look what got delivered today...

Greg and I started our marriage sleeping on a twin-sized bed (in our first apartment in Rexburg) - we slept on that for a few months.  Holy snuggling!

When we moved to Bozeman, we inherited his grandma's bedroom furniture, which came with a full-sized bed, a dresser, and a vanity.  We still have the dresser.

Then we bought a queen-sized bed and have slept on it ever since.  Greg decided to surprise me and bought a king-sized bed (mattress and a headboard/footboard) for Christmas.  We finally upgraded to a "real" bed, and it only took us 15 and half years.  Can't wait to try it out tonight.  It is huge!

Institute at BYU

Tonight was the first night of the semester at the Institute class I go to at BYU.  Gwen, Ellie, and I carpooled together.  It was fun trying to hold Ellie with one arm against the wall while taking the picture with the other hand!

Toes

Ellie loves to play with her toes!  Tonight, she woke up from her nap, kicked off her blanket, and and immediately started playing with her toes.  E even managed to pull off one of her socks!

The start of a new semester...

...and I just wanted to be playing with Ellie.  Ah, well.  I am usually only gone from her for 6 hours, one day a week.  And she has a great time playing with Rachel, Todd, Brayden, Leonard, Clayton, Jace, Cassie, and Tylan.  Ellie loves all of the attention!

Last Diaper

We got a bad case of Huggies, and there has been an abnormal amount of leakage and blow-outs.  But, we are finally done with it!  This afternoon, we used up the last diaper of the bad batch.  Cannot wait to get back to normal!

Love

Ellie is totally in love with her Daddy.  Who can blame her?

5 Months Old - with Turtle

I realized that when I had taken Ellie's 5 month old pictures, I forgot to photograph her with her turtle.  The travesty!  Apparently I overestimated her ability to sit up by herself, and caught her in the act of falling over!

Institute

Today was the first day back at Greg's mom's Institute class.  She had Elder Gene R. Cook (who is in her ward) substitute.  He taught on the Abrahamic Covenant and did a great job, but I miss Greg's mom and her style.  When I tried to tell her that after class, she just said "yeah, right" and walked away.  That was a good lesson to me that I need to be better about accepting sincere compliments - because I am very sincere when I say that to her!

And Ellie looked super cute in an outfit that Tayler gave her.

Library Board

Thanks to my friend Amy/Emily, I am the newest member of the Lehi Library Board, and tonight was my first meeting.  Amy encouraged me to take an impromptu picture!  I am excited for this new volunteer opportunity.  With meetings for one hour a month, it is a small time commitment, and yet I know I am serving the community.  (Is that laying it on thick or what?)

And here is Ellie with her favorite babysitter - Hailey.

Semi-Annual Dentist Visit

I am ambivalent about the dentist.  It's a little uncomfortable, but the results are great.  Love the just-polished-teeth feeling, and no cavities!

The Primary Closet

Our ward moved in to the Stake Center almost a year ago, and we went from 11 medium-sized closets to 1 large closet.  As you can see, we do not keep it very organized any more!  We have to store all of the nursery snacks and music leader stuff, and pencils, and our white Sunday bucket, and manuals (and these are just the ones that did not make it to the new teachers last week).  But everything fits and it is great!

Rolling Over

Ellie has mastered rolling over from her back to her front, but is still trying to figure out how to roll from her front to her back (which is supposed to be easier!).  Here is an attempt - but she got distracted...
