Cece and I have a routine in the morning. We get the big girls off to school, and then we finish eating breakfast. Then we play speech therapy. Right now we are working on identifying colors and saying the 24 sounds on our flashcards (ahhh, buh buh buh, mmm, ssss, oooo, ow, uh oh, shhh, bee, moo, eeee, shoe, duh duh duh, eye, weee, neigh, choo choo, hi, and etc). Sometimes Cece is really engaged, and sometimes I have to be more clever to get her to repeat sounds while she is going what she wants. This morning she took the initiative to sort all of her colors. I was impressed.

Oatmeal has always been Ellie's favorite food. Even as a baby, she tolerated rice cereal and gobbled up her oatmeal cereal. So when she had this sample sentence on Imagine Learning (an interactive reading program she does everyday as part of her homework), we had to take a picture.

The girls are going to be playing in a Suzuki violin event in a couple of weeks that is Star Wars themed, and costumes are encouraged. So I made this Princess Leia wig/hat for Lynlee during General Conference to be part of her costume. It was a fairly quick project. I got bulky yarn thinking it would make it go faster, but it only made it really thick and heavy. It is a substantial, super warm hat.

Ah, Swig, why do I love thee? When we go, which is not that often, usually only once or twice a month, I get either a Diet Raspberry Dream or a Diet Texas Tab. Both have coconut cream, which is the ingredient I like best. Cece gets a sugar cookie and eats off the frosting, and then Ellie eats the cookie part for her. Ellie and Lynnie like the Tiger's Blood Freezes.

Cece likes to brush her own hair. She would not let me have a turn this day, and her hair was flat and kind of matted and stuck to her head and yet still poofy. These pictures really do not do it justice. But Cece always likes going to the dentist's office (even though Ellie does not!).

It was fun to celebrate with Lauren at her baby shower. The highlight for my girls was to play with their baby cousins. On my mom's side of the family, there are 7 cousins, and they are all younger than my siblings and I. They are all married now and having babies. In the past couple of years, Shayla has had a girl and then twins, Yael had a girl, Julianne had a boy, Janice has had a girl and a boy, and Stephanie had a girl (plus Caitlin has 2 boys). It is fun to have cousins that are younger, since the rest of the Maathuis/Camp/Taylor cousins are so grown up. Ellie, Lynnie, and Cece were glued to Yael's baby Maya during the shower.

On Wednesday, I get to drive the girls to school, and Lynnie wants us to walk her in (she walks in by herself on the days Greg drives). Cece loves to sit on the stairs with her, and they don't make a peep. As Lynnie says, they are not noisy like those noisy 1st graders! Cece has started to notice when the camera comes out, and she loves to pose for pictures.

We love being able to walk to Let's Play Music class at Miss Sheryl's house. Lynlee insisted on riding Cece's ladybug bike, and she had a great time. The best part was that we got there early and Lynnie coasted down the driveway, making a sharp turn onto the sidewalk -- over and over.

Ellie spent a long time creating this book for her friend's birthday present. It was sweet to see her working so hard to make something so special. The letters on the last page are the initials of the girls in their "club" -- Rachel, Eliana, Hannah, and Allie.

We have finally come up with a system that motivates Lynnie to sleep in her own bed all night. She can earn prizes when she sleeps a certain amount of nights. We started with 8 nights, then 16 nights, then 32 nights. 32 nights was overwhelming for her and just set her up for failure, so we backed off to 16 nights for every prize from now on. After her first successful time of sleeping 8 nights in a row, she picked out this mermaid tail swimsuit from amazon. She had to try it out in the tub, of course!

Looking forward, I know that Cece will start ASL preschool after her 3rd birthday. This is her last chance to do mommy and me music classes, so I signed us up for Kindermusik with Miss Leda on Tuesdays, and found a Let's Play Music - Sound Beginnings class with Miss Alicia on Wednesdays. It is also really good "speech" therapy, with providing opportunities to listen and respond to new teachers and music stimuli. Plus, it's fun!
